PROVOST, REGISTRAR BAG COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD

The Provost, Prof Theresa Obumnene Okoli and the Registrar, Dr (Mrs) Bessie Nkah on Friday, May 3, 2024 bagged leadership awards in recognition of their contribution towards education sector and service to humanity.

The community service awards were bestowed on them during the mega rally/award ceremony of a socio-political group, Udo na Oganiru Consolidated Orumba South, with political leaders, traditional rulers, President Generals and Orumba elites in attendance.

Presenting the awards, the Chief of Staff to the governor of Anambra State, Chief Ernest Ezeajughi commended their sterling leadership of the College, which he said impacted positively on the entire Orumba South. He extolled their leadership qualities and urged them to continue the good work and not to rest on their oars.

Udo Na Oganiru Consolidated Group was led by Hon Emmanuel Nwafor (Ntu Japan ), member, Anambra State House of Assembly representing Orumba South. The event was attended by all the traditional rulers in Orumba South and some top government functionaries.

Responding, the Provost expressed joy with the recognition coming from the host community. She pleased with the state lawmaker and the representative of Governor Chukwuma Soludo to extend their development projects to the College, especially the second access road.

The Provost stressed the need for the state government to support the College, as the only federal tertiary institution in Orumba South. While thanking the organisers for the honour bestowed on her, she said the College would always partner with relevant stakeholders for the development of the host communities of Orumba South.

In her response, the Registrar, Dr Nkah expressed gladness for the honour bestowed on her and pleaded with the state government to support the development and growth of the College.
