Deputy Provost, Dr Mrs. Madichie J. C. recieves the award on behalf of the Provost
In yet another testimony to the excellent leadership style of the Management, Federal College of Education (Technical), Umunze Anambra state, the students of English Department of College has conferred a Leadership Award for Educational Development on the Provost, Prof. Josephat Okechukwu Ogbuagu, mni.

Presenting the Award to the Provost in an English Forum organized by the department at the new auditorium, permanent site of the College, the President of the department, Master Ugwu Solomon, said that the Award was in recognition of the achievements of the College Management, which is noted for uninterrupted academic calendar for several years now in a clime of strikes and academic stoppages that marked the system in Nigeria.

Ugwu said, We decided to confer this honour not just to celebrate the achievements and outstanding contributions of Prof. Ogbuagu, but also to encourage him and his team to do more for our College and Nigerian education. He should not relent on his efforts at re-defining academic standards across Nigerian education system. Our award is a wake -up call on others to realise that they are being watched. Everyone in public office is being critically monitored and their actions and inactions either good or bad are being scrutinized.

In his response, Prof. J.O Ogbuagu represented by the deputy Provost, Dr. (Mrs.) J.C Madichie said he was overwhelmed by the honour given to him by the department, especially the students, but lacked words to describe his joy, adding that his administration is willing to do more to improve the standard of education and welfare of the students in the College and Nigeria at large.

He said The award simply shows that we are going in the right direction in our quest at training the students in character and in learning. We will continue to do our best to make the College best it can be. We have not done anything to impress anybody, all we have done was out of our passion to do the right thing and we will continue to do what we are doing despite the challenges. We are all looking forward to a better society he added.

He went on to advice the students on the need to apply moderation and modesty in whatever they do as it is the benchmark for learning in the college.
